Facebook has caused like a storm was attacked by a controversial
decision the such as the banning of violent video, including the
beheading video lift. This is a temporary ban was graphic content in May after
complaints about the videos, people who impose shows beheaded. Facebook (FB,
Fortune 500) reported from the video and said it was reviewing its policy on
this kind of graphic content.
Now the company has relaxed its stance. Allows violent
content, as beheadings are published if the intention is to inform, celebrate
instead of increasing violence. After the news of the decision Tuesday,
Facebook clarified its position and said it will make a call on the graphic
content intent behind each piece. Matt Steinfeld spokesman said Facebook would
be "a comprehensive view of the surrounding context of an image or video
violent content celebrates eliminate violence" while some content "of
public interest or concern". Especially graphic Facebook a video of a
woman, beheading sparking outrage in the spring. This video has been removed
from Facebook under the ban Mai, then point back when the ban was lifted.
Terms of Use prohibit Facebook photos or videos that glorify
violence 'or attack an individual or group. "A spokesman for Facebook said
it will allow users to violent videos that appear after condemning the shares
represented.”If the video is celebrated or encouraged actions, our approach
would be different," said a spokesman for CNNMoney.
The company said that warnings about graphic display videos.
The change in policy for the first time by the BBC attracted a wave of protests
from users of Facebook and other people on Twitter. British Prime Minister
David Cameron criticized the decision. "It is irresponsible to publish
video beheading of Facebook, especially without a warning. You have to explain
your actions concerned parents", tweeted.
The new standard will provide a gateway for certain types of
content end, evade existing filters. Facebook forbids nudity, drug use and
pornography, and these restrictions remain. Much of the protest called
attention to the apparent discrepancy in Facebook for politics, extreme
violence, but may require images be removed from nursing mothers.
The issue also brought a wider debate about whether a
Facebook content platform is the editor or news. The power of social media,
says it's a place where people share their experiences and talk about what's
happening in the world. But how do you fight with freedom of expression, the
user will be without sure what kind of content will be censored.
Facebook, once again the graphic videos of beheadings posted
people on social networks. It is a controversial decision, which may raise
objections by some psychologists and parents say that children are exposed to
that content; the negative long-term effects can be very long. In May the
company reduced pressure security consultants and began removing the clips of
beheadings. But according to BBC News, Facebook now says its members should be
free to have seen (and hopefully convict) and violent content. It is the same
attitude on the subject originally this instead.
"Although the video is shocking, developed our approach
to describe the rights of the people to preserve, describe and comment on the
world we live in," said the company in May of video - supposedly filmed
somewhere in Mexico - showed a woman who was beheaded by a masked man. Then
Facebook began removing similar clips violent while evaluating their policies.
Apparently, the company that its original approach was the most appropriate.
I mean not to say that Facebook users accidentally move
between graphics and video while through its news service. "Because some
people object to the graphic video like this, we are working to give people
more control over the content they see. This can be heard warning in advance
that the image you see it contains graphic content "a door speaker says
BBC News. Facebook also says it reserves the right to end beheading videos,
especially in cases that glorifies it. "When we shot the video, or
promotion, our approach would be different.”
